It appears Ontario, at least southern Ontario, is destined to be stuck in a repeating pattern of cold front, heat wave, cold front, heat wave. The heat waves are about 10 degrees Celsius above normal average temperatures for this time of year, and many Ontarians are cranking up the air conditioning to deal with the scorching heat and oppressive humidity. This crankage is sucking up ALL available electricity in the province. The last few days Ontarians have been consuming between 1000 - 6000 kW/hrs more than we're generating, resulting in importing electricity from the stats, rolling blackouts, and a call to avoid using as much power as possible.
Why am I announcing this? Well, due to any rolling blackouts that pass through my area, Sea-Haven may go down for a little while. The base network infrastructure is on battery backup, but you never know how long the blackout will be in effect for.
Sometimes I really wish I had the space to generate my own power, then I wouldn't have to worry about this type of thing.
