It's alive, aliiiivvvve!!!

Sea-Haven has been moved and is once again alive and active! Short down times may occur as I shift equipment around, but for the most part everything should remain active. More details, pictures, and updates to come later.

Sooo sore...

Yesterday was spent actually moving furniture and almost everything else into my new apartment. Roughly 14 hours of moving, which doesn't include packing and unpacking, that's separate. We still have to move everything that's stored in the storage lockers as well, which is going to wait until next weekend after we've recuperated some and got what we did move more organized.

Tomorrow Sea-Haven moves to its new home. Currently the cable modem, router, and server reside on top of a box in my den, the only things left in the room. Actually my chair mat is still on the floor here because we forgot it, which is why it's always good to move a few days before you actually have to, in case you forget something. I'm actually lying on the floor in front of the server with my laptop cabled to the router to type this, not the most comfortable or efficient way to type.

I guess that's it for now, just wanted to let you all know what's going on and such. I should get back to the new place and continue unpacking. Check back often in the next few days as there's lots of updates to be made and pictures to be posted. Back to the chaos!

End transmission...

The packing begins

So, my condo sold, I found a new apartment, I'm moving next weekend. Things move quick around here once they get going. So I've spent all weekend packing up the house and getting things ready to move about 5 blocks north into a rental building. Yep, back to renting, the joy, the bliss, the knowledge that I only have to give 2 months notice if I decide to leave and not have to worry about selling the place. Now I do realize that renting I'm losing money that could be invested in an actual property of my own....like this condo I just sold, but I'm not quite ready to go into that little foray again. There's a few things about the new apartment that make the transition from owner to rental a little easier. The apartment has central heat and A/C, a dishwasher, and is directly connected to a decent mall. The mall part is cool, just a quick trip downstairs for groceries, alcohol, a movie theatre, and public transit! No more slogging through harsh weather to pick up a carton of milk, a case of beer, or get to the subway station. Now, if I could just find my pants.
