Laser Graffiti this Saturday, BBC fest Sunday, SUPERNOVA! Aug 2

Hey spacekids!

JULY 5 - Laser graffiti!
JULY 6 - BBC Sunday Session (Newsoundspace - all ages)
AUGUST 2 - Supernova! (Newsoundspace - all ages)

*** JULY 5: LASER GRAFFITI ***

As part of Beats, Breaks, & Culture festival at Harbourfront Centre, we
will be doing some laser tagging in the style of New York City's Graffiti
Research Lab (http://www.graffitiresearchlab.com)

The technology is pretty simple: you aim a laser at a wall, draw stuff,
and light is projected wherever the laser has touched by a projector
hooked up to a video camera. See it in action in this video:

*** AUGUST 2: SUPERNOVA! ***

Newsoundspace was conceived as a fundraising arm of Newmindspace, a way to
free us from constantly having to ask for donations from our community
(although every dollar is totally appreciated!) Our last fundraiser,
BRITE!, was a failure in the sense that it did not raise money, but was a
success in the sense that it brought a new sound to a crowd that normally
cannot hear it because it is only played in clubs.

Featuring: Stupid Fresh (UK), Hatiras, JELO, and Bubblyfish (NYC) this
event seeks to further develop the culture we've seen evolving at events
like Yuri's Night, BRITE! and POP! A culture with no name but a really
positive vibe! Hopefully it will make some money for Newmindspace this
time
:)
